Statement on COVID-19
March 24, 2020
To our members, family, supporters and donors,
Every year we build men and change lives. However, as long as there is breath in our bodies, we will continue to do that work. We are in unprecedented times. In the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Gentlemen of Vision must do our part to help slow the spread of the virus, which will save lives and avoid overwhelming our local healthcare infrastructure.
The safety of young men, their families, volunteers and our communities are our top priority.
With safety in mind and based on guidance from national health officials, All of our programs in-person meetings, activities, and events are suspended until April 22nd. Please also follow all restrictions and recommendations as outlined by our state and local authorities.
We will continue to evaluate the ongoing situation and prioritize the safety of everyone involved in the “Family of Vision” – Our youth, families, volunteers, staff, and our communities – is our number one priority.
We will soon be releasing our plan as to how we will move forward with our programs work. It will consist of online membership engagement, social media activity, and phone calls.
We realize these decisions are not without their challenges, and we thank you for helping meet the needs of our communities in difficult times.
The steps we are taking strengthen the many ways – big and small – that G.O.V. instills character traits, leadership for today, and for generations to come.
Yours in Stepping,
Marlon Wharton
